With construction beginning on the new Jekyll Island Beach Village and convention center, vehicles heading to the north end of the island will detour onto Riverview Drive, just past the Greeting Station.
Beachview Drive, north of the intersection of Ben Fortson Parkway will become closed for through traffic and remain closed for the duration of construction, which is estimated at 14 months. Northbound traffic will detour by taking Riverview Drive to Stable Road, then onto Shell Road east to Beachview Drive.
Guests who are going to the following locations will use the short detour:
- Beachview Club Hotel
- Quality Inn & Suites
- Oceanside Inn & Suites
- Villas By The Sea
- Fins On The Beach
- Red Bug Pizza
- Campground
