Doc Brown manages the Vehicle Maintenance/Sanitation Department. Employees in this department repair and maintain all Jekyll Island Authority vehicles and equipment. This includes regularly scheduled maintenance, necessary repairs, paint, and body work. Staff also provides weekly trash pick-up for residents and daily pick-up for business owners. In addition, they keep the island beaches and roadways clean and dispose of all solid waste and yard trash in accordance with EPD regulations. Tips From the Shop
If you have an older vehicle or one with high mileage its easy to have an unexpected breakdown. Here is a small list of items to keep in your vehicle so that if a breakdown does occur you could make a quick fix to be able to get home or to a repair shop.
Jumper Cables
Pliers, an adjustable wrench, and a screwdriver
A Gallon of Water
Ductape-can be used to slow a leaking water hose
Can of Fix a Flat
Small Roll of Wire or a Couple Coat Hangers (could be used to wire up an exhaust system)
Flashlight
First Aid Kit - always handy
Until you actually get in a situation you'll never know exactly what you'll need. With some creative thinking, these items might be just enough to get you home.
